THE TEAM

ABOUT

Lama's Pyjamas is part of the London Buddhist Centre (LBC) located just around the corner in Bethnal Green in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. All of our profits go to support the work of the LBC, from teaching meditation and yoga, to retreats for carers and mindfulness for depression, outreach work in schools and open days for all. People from all walks of life and backgrounds benefit from the work of the LBC which has a national reputation for pioneering programmes.

We first opened our doors in January 2010, taking over from where an earlier London Buddhist Centre business, Friends Organic, left off. The shop started off with 2 full time staff and a handful of volunteers rushed off their feet to keep up with the wonderful donations that kept flowing in from the outset. Today we employ 4 full-time staff and  4 part-timers who work alongside a pool of wonderful volunteers. We’re all practicing  Buddhists and see our work here as central to our spiritual practice. We support each other to live our values and strive to make the shop a beautiful and peaceful place where everyone can experience loving kindness, generosity and mindfulness from the moment they enter.
